Rylie's surgery

she even makes a hospital gown and green no slip socks look cute...doesn't she!

Immediatly after surgery! sweet angel face

Rylie was a freaking trip this morning. We got up and put her straight in the car in her PJ's to go. We went by a convient store and she said "today after my surgery Daddy will you take me there to let me shop for a treat". We of course said yes. We got to the CHOA outpatient center and they informed us that they were using backup generators and they called "the men" in to work on it. But all surgeries where on hold for the time and hopefully were going to get done. Can you believe that....he were there with a 3yr old...and using back up generator...Rylie was a tropper. She never asked for food or drink. SHe wanted gum though..which of course she couldn't have. She did get to pick out a prize and I am so proud that she picked out a book to read and bypass her favorites such as lip gloss and bubbles. I was shocked. Dr. Roth even signed it for her...such a sweetheart that man is.
We got there at 6:30 and they took her back finally at 9:25 and he was in room no lie at 9:30 telling us how it went..AMAZING how short of a procedure. I had talked to Rylie before hand to tell her about the austranaut mask that she would wear.SHe asked me "mommy can I go to sleep in your arms". Man talking about tearing your heart out. I said I would be there through it all and she was OUT when she made it back to the room.SHe never missed me.SHe went in to the OR and they asked her if she liked cotton candy and they put cotton candy chapstick in the mask and she was calm and cool and breath it in and gently went to sleep. Dr.Roth said she was such a big girl bc so many kids are scared and fight it. He said she made his job so much more enjoyable. I informed him that she made my life the same...more enjoyable.
She woke up on her own and was so sweet and kept saying "I love you mommy when do I have the surgery"...she drank some juice and we went home. SHe was so sweet and lovable after the surgery and I thought...OMG I have the most amazing baby girl...everyone told me there childrens horror stories..what not mine...well half way home Rylie lost her mind she was crying all the way home...unconsolable kept saying "my ears hurt and I dont feel good" we went home we ALL fell asleep and we woke up to the sweetest baby girl again...PRAISE GOD for that...She was back to Rylie and even said upon awakening "Daddy you got to take me shopping for a treat now". SHe doesn't forget anything. They went and she not only picked her out a push up, she got mommy one too....man I could just eat her up!!!!Thanks for all the prayers and I pray that this fixes her problems!!
God Bless!Rylie's proud Mommy

never will I forsake you."So we say with confidence,
"The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.

Thanks Andrea for the laugh!!

From Maxine

I was in a bar yesterday when I suddenly realized I desperately needed to fart.. The music was really, really loud, so I timed my farts with the beat.

After a couple of songs, I started to feel better. I finished my beer and noticed that everybody was staring at me.

Then I suddenly remembered that I was listening to my iPod.

Thanks Kim for this one!!

Nurses aren't supposed to laugh....

'Of course I won't laugh, said the nurse. I'm a professional.

In over twenty years I've never laughed at a patient.'

'Okay then,' said Fred, and he proceeded to drop his trousers, revealing

the tiniest 'man thingy' the nurse had ever seen. Length and width, it

couldn't have been bigger than the a AAA battery. Unable to control

herself, the nurse started giggling, then fell to the floor laughing.

Ten minutes later she was able to struggle to her feet and regain her

composure.

'I am so sorry,' she said. 'I don't know what came over me. On my honor as

a nurse and a lady, I promise it won't happen again. Now, tell me, what

seems to be the problem?'

...'It's swollen,' Fred replied.

She ran out of the room.
